Science Fiction and Film Fanatics -  AI, Memory & the Meaning of Companionship

Science Fiction and Film Fanatics -  AI, Memory & the Meaning of Companionship In-Person

Are you a science fiction enthusiast aged 18 or older? Join the Geneva Public Library's Sci-Fi Book and Movie Club! Each month, we explore thought-provoking themes through the lens of both film and literature. Our meetings will feature a movie screening one month and a book discussion the next. Participants can choose from a curated list of related books to dive deeper into the topic.

The new theme is AI, Memory & the Meaning of Companionship: Exploring Artificial Intelligence as caregivers, companions, and ethical challenges in human relationships. There are 3 books to choose from: A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers, Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, and Machines Like Me by Ian McEwan. Clicking on the link above will take you to a page with more information about the books and theme.

Engage in lively discussions, meet fellow sci-fi fans, and expand your horizons.

Register now to be part of this exciting club and immerse yourself in the world of science fiction!
