Genealogy Research Roundtable: "There's More Than One Way to Climb a Family Tree" with Sara Greenleaf In-Person

Beyond Ancestry and FamilySearch lies a landscape of resources that can transform your research—if you know how to navigate it. This session focuses on developing strategies to identify and evaluate lesser-known but reliable sites, helping you separate what’s truly useful from what’s not. By strengthening your skills in discovery and assessment, you’ll gain confidence to pursue specialized resources that enrich and expand your genealogical work.

Sara Greenleaf is an academic librarian with nearly thirty years of experience and has pursued genealogical research for two decades. She draws on her professional expertise in research methods and teaching, together with her passion for family history, to help others strengthen their skills and discover meaningful connections. She has built her career primarily at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, with several years at the United States Naval Academy before returning to HWS. She is active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she currently serves as Registrar for the Seneca Chapter, NSDAR.
